Sustainability Week Zurich (Nachhaltigkeitswoche Zürich) is the largest student sustainability event in Zurich. Before it officially begins on 13th April 2026 this year, we are organising a Pre-Event to bring together, grow and celebrate our sustainability community. This is why this event is called «Stronger Together» as it brings together students, student associations and volunteers in a unique setting. 

This event also reflects the way Sustainability Week Zurich functions. We organise more than 50 events during the Week, but they are all organised by students or student associations from five universities on their various campuses. Since many students are doing this for the first time, this Pre-Event serves as an Info-Event for them, where we discuss the logistics and answer any questions. This is followed by Speed-friending with other event organisers and volunteers and a dinner. We also have volunteers during the Week, who are invited to this event. Our Lead Team at Sustainability Week is the main organiser which supports these events logistically, financially and plans the Week throughout the year.  

The Nachhaltigkeitswoche Zürich (NHWZ) is an independent student association / Verein made up of Zurich’s 5 largest public universities: UZH, ETH, ZHAW, ZHdK & PHZH. The Week is led by students and is open and free for all to attend.

Our theme of the year “Sharing the Future” is about coming together in a conflicted world. With each event during the Week, we try to take one step towards the best future by sharing our experiences, our resources and our knowledge.

The 14th iteration of the NHWZ will take place 13-17th April 2026. During the Week this year, we have a big tent in UZH Irchel Campus where we have free lunch and workshops. Other events take place every day of the Week across several campuses of our constituent universities. Anyone is welcome to join the Week including non-students. 

The space for our Pre-Event at Kulturpark is provided to us by ZKSD (Zurich Knowledge Center for Sustainable Development).
